Trip to Paris

This week we went to Paris! It was an incredible time! We saw the Eiffle Tower and it was incredible! It is such a great historic place! Instead of just looking at the tower and not really thinking about it, I decided to The Eiffle Tower was built in 1887 at the entrance of the 1889 World's Fair. People like Vincent van Gogh, Thomas Edison, and Nikola Tesla have seen the Eiffle Tower and been to the 1889 World's Fair.

The tower had been witness to a lot of history. With the German occupation of Paris in 1940, the French ordered the lift cables cut. In 1940, this made German soldiers have to walk up the stairs to place their flag at the top. In 1944 Hitler ordered the tower and most of Paris destroyed, that order was disobayed. As such, the tower has survived to this day. It is a very nice structure and has a lot of history in it!

Also while in Paris, I got to see Notre-Damn. It is an incredible medieval Catholic cathedral. It is one of the largest and best known church buildings in the world. I have seen a lot of churches during my trip abroad and I have to say, it was one of the nicest ones. It was really incredible to see. There are also gardens outside of Notre-Damn where some of my friends and I got to enjoy the nice weather. Overall, it was very nice and was incredible to see a church that was completed in the 1300's and survives to this day. It is shocking to think that such magnificent structures were able to be constructed before all of our current technology. Notre-Damn took over 180 years to construct. I cannot even imagine a project going that long. It just really shows the ingenuity and dedication of the builders of the church.
