My trip to Prague was very interesting! I was able to see many different monuments and structures such as the Charles Bridge and the Prague Castle. The Charles Bridge is the most famous bridge in Prague. Constructed from 1357 to 1402, the bridge was the only way to cross the Vltava river. The bridge was commisioned by Charles IV, the Holy Roman Emperor. The bridge istelf is constructed of 16 arches and three towers. It lies low to the river. The bridge is a reminder of Prague's time as a main city durring medieval times. Moreover, the bridge was largly undamaged through World War II and so is still intact.

There is a tower standing on each end of the bridge and I was fortunate enough to be able to climb to the top of one of the towers! It was an incredible experience and provided a panoramic view of Prague!

On the bridge, there are also 30 Baroque statues that portray different things. All in all, they added a lot to the medieval charm of the bridge and to Prague itself. I definitly reccomend going to visit the Charles Bridge on any trip to Prague!

Also on my trip to Prague, I got to see the St. Vitus Cathedral within the Prague Castle Complex. It was incredible! The Prague Castle is also where the President of the Czech Republic lives and so it was so cool to be walking through and then seeing a massive cathedral on the grounds. The St. Vitus Cathedral was built around the year 1344. The cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral and is where the Archbishop of Prague sits.

The cathedral is a fantastic example of Gothic architecure and was unbelievably stunning! It is the largest and most important church in all of the Czech Republic. Within the cathedral are the tombs of a lot of the Bohemian kings and Holy Roman Emperors. It was a truly incredible experience to see! Also, the fact that there is a church in the middle of the Prague Castle where the President of the Czech Republic lives was especially interesting. Coming from the United States where there is a seperation of church and state, it was very striking to see a massive church in the middle of where the president lives. It really made me think about how other governments are set up and about how religion is extremly important to some countries. Not just theocracies which are entirely run by religion but countries which are fairley secular but still have a very large influence by religion.

Overall, my trip to Prague was incredible! I got to see many historic buildings and places and it allowed me to reflect on how the US government is set up and really think about how other countries governments are set up!
